Women who shave, when confronted with my hairiness, sometimes feel the need to justify their choice to shave by explaining that their body hair is much darker than mine. This implies two things: 1.) If my leg hair were darker, I’d most likely “give in” and shave. 2.) I probably get less shit from people otherwise disgusted by female body hair because mine is lighter/light enough.
Good thing my underarm hair is darker and more substantial, otherwise I’d be making almost no statement at all, since it wouldn’t really be a challenge. Which is clearly the only possible reason a woman wouldn’t shave.
